Hope that you are doing well and staying dry!!! Above you will see my fav coat for 2010! It's from WHBM and has a great military look to it. I rock mine with boots and a cute scarf. All of the funny weather issues has me pulling out the heavy stuff in Texas!! You know anything under 45 degrees is freezing to us!!! LOL. So when do you shop for jackets at great prices? Out of season of course, that is why you hit up TJ Maxx and Marshall's when needed. Cute jackets are hard to find so work it out. When I see one I get it right then and there. Now I can say that I have tooo many..LOL but hey at lease I have I have one for each fab outing!! Shop for jackets by events and styles. You should not wear the same coat to the park and on a dinner date or awards banquet!! So yes you will have more then one in your closet, wear them well and become friendly with your local dry cleaners you will need them regularly this season! Purchase coats that fit well and can last you more then one year. Also capes are huge this season as well. I rock mine regularly!!

Shop sales and hit up TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Ross. You can also find some great deals online as well. I have become a die hard Zappos fan, love it!!! Type in your item in google search and let your mouse do the work for you!! There are some great deals to be had by all!!! Let me know what you get from Santa!

But remember that it is actually about giving and not receiving! Also its a great time to clean out your closet during winter break!!

Who said men are hard to shop for?

OK folks I have been SUPER busy with the school but staying active on Twitter! Here I am again writing you about something. This time it is Christmas, YEA! Have you started shopping? Remember that there are numerous ways to make your purchases, you do not have to fight the crowds! I have done a lot of online shopping and was very surprised by how fast stuff actually arrived. For example, I ordered a cute watch box on Saturday (shown approve) December 4 and it arrived yesterday December 7 ! And shipping was FREE!! Love it. Look around for great deals online and shop early in the morning if you have to go to a actual location. Also from one fashionista to another, shopping during the week is the best! Happy Holidays and happy shopping!!

Happy Turkey Day..now on to the Stores!!

Where will you be this Friday? Hopefully, at one of Black Friday events!! I will be and the same on Saturday!! Dress for fun and wear comfortable shoes, take water!! Kohl's, Target, and WHBM are on my list!! Frugalistas will be out looking for fab finds and there are a lot to be had!! Make sure you also check out your fav websites!! Many people are forgetting about the website deals!!! They are going to be FAB as well. Hit the stores early and hard, but remember if you do not want to deal with the traffic, wait til next week and go when everyone else is at work!! Happy shopping!!!

Men's Fall Fashion

It's the Fall season folks and on my radio show I am going to be talking about the Fall wear for guys!! Hope all of you are ready!! Men listen up, invest in some fab finds for Fall!! Neutrals and military wear are huge this season. Keep that suit looking fab by going and dropping it off at the cleaners. Also men should have great coats in their closet as well. Invest in you a great winter coat. Remember fellas that just because you work construction, does not mean that you have to dress in your construction wear 24/7. There are alot of FAB finds out there!! Nothing makes a man look better then a great suit. You also need to have a pair of dark denim jeans!! Check out Kohl's, JC Penny's and Macy's!

The 150 Dollar Challenge!!!

I was given a challenge to find a career wardrobe for 150 or less. I accepted the challenge and of course I not only beat it, I came back with 11 dollars in change. What did I get and where did I go you ask? Simple, I put my frugalista hat on and went to a store that carries career pieces in large quanties therefore they have fab prices! That place is K & G Superstore! I was able to get 1 280 dollar Suit for 49.99, a bright rose cardigan for 19 bucks and it's Silk, a black blouse with a V collar with trim 19 bucks, brown A line knee length skirt 19, Camel A line skirt 17 bucks, both skirts regularly 90 dollars each. All bottoms can be worn with other tops, and the cardigan can be worn over a FAB LBD!! All pieces work well and can also go from day to night!!

Maxi dress is still the Summer must have!

I have said this numerous times, but shopping lately has proved my point, the Maxi dress is indeed the Summer MUST HAVE!! No matter what color or design, they are easy to care for, easy to wear and breathable! I purchased a beautiful BRIGHT Yellow maxi dress from Charming Charlie's ..loves it and so do many other people! So girlies if you do not have one, head out and get you one!!! Try White House Black Market, Charlies, Dillards and Neiman Marcus for some great fines!

What a Break!!! Did ya miss me?

Guess who is back? Savvydiva of course, took a break to grade fashion projects and run around with my students. I am sooooooooooo proud of them and all of their shows, tonight FEVER - produced by MS COCO happens tonight @ 8 PM. Tony Harris has a show coming up on the 30th. San Antonio is finally trying to come up in fashion thx to the IADT graduates and shows! The Art institute is now in SA as well, so expect GREAT things coming up from both schools.

People read but no followers?? What's that about?

Ok folks

Numerous people have contacted me about my blog, but you are not following me, except on Twitter. Let me know that I am not crazy. I know that Texas still has a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOong way to go as far as fashion goes, but we are getting there and as always, Texans have their own way on doing things. I think we are slowly coming out from under our shell and starting to embrace our savviness (Is that a word?) I want folks to know that it does not take your entire paycheck to look and feel FAB! I personally do not shop expensive brands not because I can not afford too, but I love small businesses and boutiques and one of a kind places where my dollar goes further. Spend 900 dollars on one pair of shoes (just because of the designer name attached to them) or spend 900 dollars in Macy's or WHBM and get some staple always fashionable pieces that can be mixed and matched? My associates had never heard of some of my fav places until I started ranting on about them. I can spot a FAB LBD for a Scary price that would cost your average fashionista her entire month salary for a third of the price in some cases at my fav places. Let us not take cheapness over quality, quality will win hands down. I mean really, do you want your dress to fall off of you at your next event? Shop around and get some investment staple pieces and you should be fine! TJ Maxx and Marshall 's have great finds at a good deal. My hang out WHBM has the latest trends mixed with a little vintage and classic (Which I love) at reasonable prices. True, you will not go in there and purchase one thing (believe me I have tried), but your closet and your esteem will thank you later!! Stop buying 10 dollar pants expecting them to last for the next 5 yrs! There I said it, hope I did not hurt anyone's feelings, my grandmother always use to say that people have caviar taste on a champagne budget and they would forever be in debt. What are your thoughts? I have a new Love in intimates!!

I know it has been a while folks but many of you know that my FAB Dapper Father has been under the weather and actually had a Heart Attack this past weekend, so he has been keeping me busy. Thx for all the calls and text messages XOXOXO to you all! I wanted to post this like a month ago but everything went left, you all know that I love me some WHBM and often share style ideas from their look book as well as from their sister store Chicos. Sex and the City 2

I went to see this FAB fashionista movie yesterday. First, let me say the fashions were FAB and vivid! Second let me say that the location of this movie is out of this world! This movie has it all love, laughter, kids, a wedding, exotic travel and eats, hot guys, and FAB fashions of course! It is a must see for the opening Unofficial weekend of Summer. Samantha as always had me laughing til it hurt. Love the story line of the movie and could actually relate to the ladies in different ways. Do not take the kids, this is definitely a Girlfriend or girls night out movie. The theater here actually had Cosmo's and other drinks for sale and local ladies don their best Sex and the City attire. So if you have not seen the movie, go this weekend and stay out the heat!!!

Your March FAB Dress!!!

It is Spring and time to come out of your shell. You may remember that I stated I would try to feature some FAB dress finds. This is my latest one. I purchased this dress from Newport News in Royal Purple. I have been looking for the Twist dress since last year, but my challenge was to find it at a frugalista price. The original design went for 199 for the short and 299 for the floor length. After waiting and checking on line constantly, Newport News came out with their own version!!! Not only is it a FAB find it was literally HALF the price 79.99 dollars to be exact. Of course Newport News has coupons!!! I ended up paying 45 plus shipping!!!!What makes the dress so FAB is the fact that you can twist the top part over 12 different ways there by creating 12 different dresses!!!!! Say WHAT???? Yes, that is why I had to have the twist dress!! It is great for a wedding, dinner party, bridal shower or holiday party!!! For those of you looking to find bridesmaids dresses for different body types, this is the dress you need!!! Check out the picture above!!!

What is up world took a few days off to help students and work on things!!! I just found out that Desiree Rogers in ALL of her FABNESS is stepping down...seriously can we just work in the here and now and STOP the blame game....People always have issues that they want to voice but I have yet heard them bring forth a solution!!! HELLLLLLLLLLLLO I was taught at a young age that if you have a problem you find a solution....not cry over it beating a dead horse.... Now that I have gotten that out of my system, you go Desiree and do what you do best, forget the neysayers. You are on my blog because you are a FAB woman and a GREAT dresser...love your style and I will miss seeing it. Now on to other news....

Someone asked me what's savvy for a Superbowl Party Outfit...I think it all comes down to your personel style...in other words do not throw on your fav jeans, heels, and jersey unless you can truely pull that off...and look FAB while doing it!! The January 2010 must have LBD!!!

Who says that you have to only have one LBD? Please, real women not only wear pearls ( You go First Lady) they also have more then one LBD in their closet. Same is true for black pants and shoes! I have found the ultimate LBD for January 2010 and it may be the winner for the year..its still early we have 11 more months to go LOL! This dress has a FAB contour, fabric, style, and neckline and waist to die for. The model who is rocking this is purrrrrrrrrrrfect for it! and you all know where to find it? WHBM of course!! Its been a few days since we last blogged. I have been very busy with the students at IADT and trying to get my biz website back up...its up now but I still can not get the updates to come through. Yes, it still has Christmas on it LOL!!! Still it was a great holiday season, celebrating with the 4 F's Faith, Family, Food and Friends! Of course my B day was on the 3rd, I am starting to feel my age. Guess what we got? Wii ,yes we have jumped on the wagon and I must say it is a workout for you but fun at the same time! O I also went to see the Lion King, O my God what a show!! It was held at the Majestic Theater which is a show all of its own. Check out my next post...its the LBD that you must have!!!
