What a day

The weather in SA is Rainy with a a lot of Smiles! We need it and my tomatoes say "Thank You". With the rain we must also note that as of 418 PM today it will officially be Autumn! It's time to get the sweaters and boots ready! Remember to donate what you do not wear anymore. My better half just found a FAB leather coat at Dillard's but it's 500 bucks! You all know that I am a recessionista and that's a no no! Look for good sales at J.C. Penny's, Kohl's and on line at Chadwick's and Newport News for jackets! Yes it is OK to have a POP color jacket, I have a Red jacket and a Purple one. Nothing is better then dark denim, white tee/button up or turtle neck , cute heels and a POP of color in the form of a jacket! I wish you all a great Autumn and happy shopping!

The Winner is Mad Men!!

Well folks

It has been a interesting weekend:

I went to the Sistas in Business Fashion Show and Luncheon. The show was done with the Recessionista in mind. All fashions were under 50 dollars and could be purchased directly. The MC was Allyson Byrd, she was also the hostess at the MJ on The Runway Show. The fashions were easy care, light fabric and durable. Many ladies in attendance made purchases.

I also paid a visit to my fav store White House Black Market, were I purchased My sheath dress in grey that I had to have. Rhonda thanks for your help as always! WHBM currently has some GREAT finds for the lady on the move! Recently, I have purchased pants, shoes and a dress as well. I have also started cleaning out my closet for Fall. So folks let's make sure we have started getting ready for Fall, get those sweaters clean and replaced. Also now is the time to find those FAB boots!

To end this I just want to say if you have never watched Mad Men, you should watch the next episode, congrads on your Emmy's MM! I love the show not just because of the plots and actors/actresses, it's all of the vintage fashions! The women are always dressed Jackie-O-ious. There is always something that I see on the show that I must have, I love the classics!

When is enough really enough?

Have you ever went somewhere to get one item and walked out the store with 12 things? I have, Target and White House Black Market are my weakness. As we trug through this recession, let us not forget to be frugal and thankful for what we do have. Reinvent your fav. jeans and blazer. Nothing says simple and classy like dark denim, a white button up shirt, heels and a to die for blazer. Learn to accessorize your outfits with new small items or have a swap party with your girlfriends! I always say you can never have too many shoes, black pants, and white shirts! So go ahead and treat yourself but know when to back away and save for a rainy day! Good luck my fellow recessionistas!

The Year of the Gentleman

Hello folks

Its me again passing my knowledge on to the world! Let's talk about the men and what's in fashion. OK, I will say it until I am blue in the face..and that takes a while, sagging showing the world your underwear is not on point, sexy, cute or anything else. My male readers pass this on, I can not have another young man show up for a interview with Dickies on dragging on the floor, paired up with a "Thug Life" T-Shirt...O let me not forget the half naked lady laying on top of a car on back. This year is quoted as being the Year of the Gentleman, so let's make that happen! If you want others to take you seriously, you must start taking yourself (your image) seriously! How can you expect to land a job, get backing for your business, get into school or anything else when you can not even keep your pants up above your knees? Trust me unless you are in the Rap game or own a saggy jean image building business it does not work for you. Sorry ....but now that you know, here is what you can do to get on the right page and still be you and have your own SWAG. First realize your age, nothing is worse then seeing thug love on a young man accept when it's him and his father and their dressed like twins (I have seen it). It's time to do away with child play and move into the next chapter of your life. Secondly, realize were you are and were you want to be ...tomorrow, next week, next year, and in five years. Now that you have you marker in the road, how are you going to get there? Your image speaks volume about you, your upbringing, your drive, your education, and your mindset. So let's get with it and start a new chapter with a brand new set of eyes for Fall 2009. End the year of the Gentleman on a great note of Growth/determination not Stagnation!

The 2009 VMA'S

WOW

What a show.....It would have been better without the Kanye West outburst...what was he thinking. Taylor Swift is very talented and deserves her first Moon Man, congrads! Lets talk fashion..Mrs. Carter (Beyonce) Looked FAB in her Red micro mini and Taylor Swifts' dress she wore during her performance reminded me of a Prom dress from the 80's but not in a bad way but a Cute Girlie way! LOVED Pitbull's suit and Ne-Yo looked Dabber as always! I was also happy to see J-Lo, her dress was draped in shape yet pleasing on the eyes, Girlie has twins, you go Jenny from the Block! I heard one of the Simmon's daughters was there. The Sisters are getting ready to launch their Clothing line, Best wishes and can not wait! Their shoes are FAB! The Lady Gaga act was interesting and so were the costumes she wore through out the show... :? Notice that a lot of the gentlemen were in suits positive change, would have liked to see Jay Z in something else, the sagging jeans are so out and distracting and not in a good way! In all there were some wins and opportunities!

FAB find at Target!

Hello folks

I hope you all are having a great Football Sunday! I actually stopped at one of my fav places..Target, looking for a small roll-about-luggage. Instead, my boyfriend insisted that I see this great dress in women's. His taste is a little different then mine but I was very surprised by the dress he showed me, not only was it FAB in color it was FAB in style! Lately, he has been spotting some great pieces for me...I am rubbing off on him :)! The dress is by Merona and is wine in color, A-line, and fitted on top with a to die for neckline. I will post a pic as soon as I wear it! It was announced a while back that Target would carry some high end merchandise, and I am starting to notice it. The quality of their clothes is great and most important it is affordable! The dress that I purchased could be in any specialty store for up to triple the 42 dollar price, if not more! I have purchased shirts and shoes from Target before and had people ask me where did I get them they are FAB! At Target love!
